Felice Casorati - Wikipedia

Felice Casorati: A collection of 81 works (HD) Description: "Felice Casorati was an Italian artist known for his figurative paintings and sculptures, often featuring mysterious symbols, rendered from unusual angles and perspectives. Born on December 4, 1883 in Novara, Italy, he studied law at the University of Padua while moonlighting as a painter, with some of his earliest work included in the 1907 Venice Biennale. He became influenced by the famed Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, and Casorati’s first solo exhibition at the 1915 Rome Secession III showed traces of the Symbolism movement. After World War I, he became a leading figure in the conservative Return to Order movement, calling for a rejection of the avant-garde in favor of more traditional art. Casorati’s most famous work was the Silvana Cenni (1922), a painting inspired by the Renaissance master Piero della Francesca, featuring a stern woman from a symmetrical, frontal view in front of an open window.Αποτέλεσμα εικόνας για Silvana Cenni (1922) The artist taught and exhibited widely, gaining the First Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1939. His later work is marked by a softer palette and gentler perspective than his earlier compositions. He died on March 1, 1963 in Turin, Italy." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Evening Fall Piano
